January 11, 2008, Pueblo, Colo. TTCI announces its participation in China’s high-speed passenger rail development.  Early this year, TTCI will deliver to the Ministry of Railways in China a wheel and rail-force measurement system consisting of two high-precision instrumented wheelsets.

TTCI, a recognized international leader in wheel and rail mechanism research and supplier of the high-precision wheel-rail interaction measurement system, won the contract in an international tender in 2007.  The project is sponsored by a loan from the Asian Development Bank.

The system will work as part of the first comprehensive inspection train under construction in China for automated infrastructure inspections on the newly built high-speed passenger lines. The MOR Infrastructure Inspection Center will operate the train.

”Our reputation of having a precise, reliable, and durable measurement system was key to winning this contract,” said Program Manager Jian Sun.

Over the past few years, TTCI and the MOR have worked together implementing 48 trackside acoustic detector systems throughout China.  This project is another step in TTCI’s commitment of expanding work in China.
