The Damage Prevention and Freight Claim Committee organizes and implements programs, testing, and documentation for the prevention of loss and damage to freight shipped in closed car and intermodal. The Committee also supports the equitable apportionment among carriers of freight claim settlements.
Damage Prevention and Loading Services and MxV Rail conducts testing for railroads, shippers, and suppliers in establishing industry approved loading rules and standards for closed car shipments, intermodal containers and trailers, automobile shipments, and open top shipments.
